The Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative aspect of Development and public relation activities.
The candidate will also provide support to the Development office including participating in all fund raising activities, donor and public relations, direct mail and special events.
This position supports the mission and charism of the Sisters of Saint Dominic by being an innovative and energetic Development professional with the ability to take established Development efforts to new levels of success.
This position requires excellent oral and written, communication, planning, and coordinating.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of computer applications (word, excel, database systems, etc.), be a self-starter and be able to develop effective working relationships.
Some database experience, as well as having outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
This position requires the ability to work with diverse populations, disseminate and discuss information, be multitask oriented, prioritize activities, perform at a high level of accuracy, maintain confidentiality and follow written and oral instruction.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent. Associate degree is required with two or more years of experience in office procedure, preferably in a Development office or focus in fundraising, Bachelor’s preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Has strong comprehension, oral and written communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Is able to understand and assist in the department budgeting process, forecasting, and appropriate financial controls.
REASONING ABILITY: Able to solve practical problems, deal with complex variables, and apply them to situations.
Additional Salary Information: Salary based on experience.
Position can be part time or full time.
