The Archdiocese of Milwaukee seeks an executive for the Director of Development (DoD) role to elevate existing fundraising programs and develop new mechanisms and sources of support to realize the full philanthropic potential of the Archdiocese in service to the large and growing Catholic community and its essential institutions and programs. The DoD will work closely with Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki, the Archdiocesan Central Office, pastors and parish staff, donors, and other key constituents to advance the Archdiocese’s development goals. The DoD will oversee, manage, and grow development programs and the development department, currently consisting of a total eleven development team members. As an organizational leader and key convener of people and ideas, the DoD is expected to have exemplary interpersonal skills to effectively navigate a complex organizational structure, support multi-leveled fundraising initiatives and relationships, and maximize the Archbishop’s time and fundraising effectiveness. The DoD is a bold thinker and a strategic yet ‘hands-on’ executive who will establish and lead a best-in-class development program. As a counselor to the Archbishop, s/he will couple a genuine passion for the mission of the Catholic Church in the Milwaukee area and deep and proven experience driving fundraising success to usher the archdiocese into a new era of fundraising. The DoD will enhance the Archdiocese’s overall approach to advancement – one that creates a true culture of stewardship and accountability throughout the organization and improves and develops sustained success in contributed revenue.”
Bachelor’s Degree required. Must possess proven experience and success in overseeing, managing and growing a development team of similar size. Annual fund and major gift experience required. Capital campaign experience highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with and understanding of the logic of development software; i.e. Raiser’s Edge, Wealth Engine, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with PDS and ParishSoft helpful. Proven commitment to professional growth and development. Must be faithful and committed Catholic with a passion for the mission of the Catholic Church and the principles of Gospel Stewardship.

The archdiocese covers 4,758 square miles in southeast Wisconsin and includes the following counties: Dodge, Fond du Lac, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha.
