The Development Associate is a member of the development team, which is responsible for fundraising activities and building meaningful relationships throughout the Atlantic-Midwest Province for the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Development Associate will conduct prospect research [prepare solicitation and follow-up], perform donor relation tasks and oversee day-to-day development operations in the Baltimore Office.
--Minimum of five years of fund-raising experience in Greater Maryland/Washington, DC area. --Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising – able to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle: (1) prospect research of current and potential donors; (2) donor cultivation strategies; (3) moves management (4) preparation of solicitation materials; (5) personalized ongoing donor stewardship. • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully to multi-task and implement new initiatives. • Entrepreneurial spirit; a self-starter with ability to work independently and as member of fast-paced development team. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, sophisticated interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong organization and management skills. -Ability to collaborate with others and create unity in working with donors, volunteers, sisters, staff and colleagues. -Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and Raisers Edge. -Ability to travel, attend off-site conferences and meetings. -Ability to distinguish and honor confidentiality and communicate information. -Experience with religious life and organizations a plus.
